This species is much smaller compared to other python species, with adult females typically reaching lengths of around 6 feet and males reaching lengths of around 4 feet. They have distinctive patterns and colors, with black or dark brown scales and light brown or yellow markings that create a beautiful contrast. Savu Pythons are popular among reptile enthusiasts for their unique appearance and manageable size.These pythons are primarily found in dry and rocky habitats, such as savannas and grasslands. They are nocturnal hunters, feeding on small mammals, birds, and reptiles. Despite their small size, Savu Pythons are powerful constrictors, using their muscular bodies to suffocate their prey before consuming it whole. These snakes are solitary creatures, only coming together during the breeding season. Females lay around 6-12 eggs, which they guard until they hatch.
